When the New Year finally arrived millions of people around the world began to start a year long collective “walk on eggshells” as doomsday watchers and people who follow the Mayan Calendar view 2012 as an apocalyptic year.

You may not believe in doomsday prophecies or end of the world talk but the question that you should ask yourself is: where would I be financially if the world were to end tomorrow? How much money and resources would you have for the next six months to one year? If the answer is zero or not enough then it’s time to start a “doomsday” money management strategy.

Savings

Your goal should be to save at least enough income to carry you and your family through for at least six months to one year. Depending on your job situation you should focus on saving at least 10% out of every paycheck now so that money will be there when you need it.

Debt

How much debt are you carrying? Now is the time to be thinking of credit repair. If you have more debt than income coming in you should consider selling or trading in some of those cash hogging debts like your home or car. This will enable you to have more money in the long run and be less dependent on friends or family members if you weren’t able to pay your bills.

Financial Clean Up

Start paying off any outstanding personal loans for people with bad credit that you’ve only been paying the minimum amount on for the last few years, consolidate your credit cards into one card, pay off the lease on your vehicle and stop paying for that expensive cable television or cell phone service that you haven’t really used in the last year.

Assets

One of the best ways to be prepared for any “apocalypse” is to have plenty of assets on hand that you could sell during tough economic times. Some assets to consider are jewelery (especially gold and silver), artwork, sculpture, weapons, land and antiques.

Pool Resources

If your relatives live nearby and they are renting a home or apartment like you one of the best ways to save money is by contacting those family members then coming up with the idea of renting a home together. When family members or friends live together under one roof they have the opportunity to pool resources and save money by sharing expenses rather than paying for everything themselves.

The apocalypse may not come in 2012 but it never hurts to be prepared for potential disasters by taking a renewed look at your finances and being ready for anything.

After all, if every guy wants to be nine inches and all these medieval torture methods worked, then wouldn’t we all be out stretching and strengthening out manhood with tiny weight or penis exercises? In fact, wouldn’t we all be hung like horses if we had the opportunity? With that in mind, how can men continue to truly believe in the ‘myth’ of male enhancement?

The Man Behind The Myth

Of course, you and I know better. We know that every myth and every legend is created from an arcane mixture of fact and fiction. The same thing goes for the subject of male enhancement. Some of the most bizarre stories that you have heard are actually correct and may even be the doctor recommended treatment for conditions like erectile dysfunction. Some, of course, are simply the product of wishful thinking. Knowing the difference between these two groups is the key to finding and achieving a successful male enhancement program. If you can’t or won’t do that, then you’d best learn to be happy with what mother nature gave you, cause an uninformed attempt at male enhancement can go horribly wrong.

Investigating Male Enhancement

If you’re really interested in male enhancement, then you need to take the time to do your research and find out about the available methods. The options are numerous, but each has its pros and cons and some are more successful than others. Take the time to discuss your situation with a doctor before committing to anything. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to get him to prescribe you a simple pill to solve your problems. Otherwise, you’ll have to find a reputable source of assistance on your own. As long as you are truly committed to the process, however, chances are that one day you’ll find out the truth behind the myth for yourself.

Warts

One of the most common weird skin conditions in the world is warts. Unlike other skin conditions, warts are not hard to spot and can grow almost anywhere on the body, including the genital area.
Warts are spread by sharing things that you might use in the bathroom like: towels, wash clothes, bars of soap and razors. Many warts typically go away in just a few months while other warts can be hard to deal with and can take years to remove.

Unlike other problematic skin conditions, warts are treatable thanks to the wide variety of wart removal products that are on the market today and common wart removal remedies like duct tape. If over the counter wart removal remedies don’t work, warts can be removed by having them frozen and removed by a doctor.

Eczema

This weird skin condition is actually something that’s quite common in the world. Almost 20% of babies in the world deal with Eczema and 3% of adults suffer from it as well too.
Anyone who is suffering from Eczema typically will get a rash followed by dry, flaky skin. After visiting a doctor, a prescription lotion will typically be ordered to help moisturize the skin and reduce the rashes.
Other ways to relive Eczema suffering include using cold compresses, avoiding stress and overheating.

Psoriasis

Another common skin condition around the world is psoriasis. This condition is similar to Eczema in that it includes redness, skin irritation and flakiness. Many people around the world deal with psoriasis on a daily basis and work hard to hide the sometimes white patches that are commonly referred to as scales.
This skin condition is treatable through prescription medication and treatment at a doctor’s office.

When you get dressed before a trip there are certain things that you think about. Will I be comfortable wearing this all day? Will I look put together when I get there? If you’re an experienced traveler, you may even take the time to dress with the TSA checkpoint in mind. You might forgo a bulky coat or wear shoes that slip on and off easily. Until it happens to you, however, you are unlikely suspect that your undergarments could set off the scanning machine and subject you to a pat down or strip search.

Underwire Crackdown

Unfortunately, this scenario is a very real one. According to the TSA, their scanners are so sensitive that even the small amount of metal in an underwire bra can set them off. Indeed, this is one of the leading causes of an alert on the scanner and underwires are listed on the TSA regulations website as an item to avoid when flying.

Avoiding Underwire Unpleasantness

So what does that mean for you as a traveler? It depends. You could simply continue to wear your bras to fly and take the chance that you won’t be asked to submit to a more invasive procedure by the TSA. The scanner does not always alert to underwires since many are made with more plastic than metal these days and many women never have to deal with the issue at all. In addition, various TSA employees will handle such an alert in different ways. Some will wave you through when they determine the issue while some will take a harder line. Just remember however, that resisting scans or searches can get you barred from travel or fined. Alternatively, you could choose to wear a bra that provides support without an underwire—an easy way to avoid the issue—or go without and pack a bra in your carry on in case you decide you need it later.

Are you interested in quality bras, such as chantelle bras.

When you’re looking for a Halloween costume, it’s important that you consider any consequences that might come from wearing it. Most people don’t think about how they’ll be perceived, and they don’t think about how comfortable they’ll actually be. Instead, they just pick something they like the look of, or that they think will be funny. It’s often best to put more thought into your costume.

Getting the Right Costume

Whether you’re buying an infant Halloween costume, a child or for yourself, it’s important that you get something safe. Many costumes, especially those for children, come with paper or plastic types of masks. These can be hard to see out of, and can really limit how much peripheral vision a person has. When you can’t see well, you’re more likely to get injured, so consider that before you buy a costume for yourself or for your kids. You can get many nice costumes that aren’t as vision-restrictive and that will be more comfortable and safer to wear.

What Are You Saying About Yourself?

It’s easy to say that you don’t care what others think, but most people actually do care what people are saying about them. Find a costume that’s appropriate for your age and lifestyle, so that you don’t get “branded” by your friends, colleagues, or the entire neighborhood. Skimpy, overly sexual costumes are often a poor choice, as are costumes that dredge up bad memories – such as terrorists, etc.

If you take your time and act thoughtfully when buying a Halloween costume, you’ll be much more likely to purchase something that you like and that others will also like. You’ll be comfortable and safe, and you’ll have a great time on Halloween no matter whether you’re going to an office party or trick-or-treating with your friends and kids.

Wallace Stevens had this to say about the unknown: ‘It is the unknown that excites the ardor of scholars, who, in the known alone, would shrivel up with boredom’. What would all of our worldly scholars do without something to wonder about? They would be just normal human beings with a brilliant mind going to waste. Much like me! But

What is Truly Frightening?

What scares you? The dark? Do you know why the dark scares people? The unknown. You don’t know what’s in the dark. Antoine De Saint-Exupery told us that: ‘Only the unknown frightens men. But once a man has faced the unknown, that terror becomes the known’. Pretty simple I guess. Sort of a face your fears type of philosophy. Elias Canetti discussed fear of the unknown in this manner: ‘There is nothing that man fears more than the touch of the unknown. He wants to see what is reaching towards him, and be able to recognize or at least classify it. Man always tends to avoid physical contact with anything strange’. I absolutely agree with the first two parts of that quote. But as far as man avoiding contact with anything strange, I beg to differ. If we as humans truly adhered to that philosophy, we would still be living in caves and afraid of a campfire.

On the Other Hand

According to Rene Magritte: ‘The mind loves the unknown’. Well which is it folks? Do we love it or are we afraid of it? She continues by saying ‘It loves images whose meaning is unknown, since the meaning of the mind itself is unknown’. A little like being afraid of a huge roller coaster, but being the first back in line to ride it again.

So we see that ‘the unknown’ by its very existence scares us; but that by doing so, it motivates us to make it known, so that we can be less afraid.

Many Famous Martin Luther King Jr. Quotes have bearing on many of today’s social issues.

If you’re a fan of television shows like NCIS, Law and Order or the new version of Hawaii Five O, you’ve seen the characters on the show track suspects or find the last known location of an individual by tracking their cell phone location.

These fictional T.V. shows make it look easy to track an individual’s cell phone location because it is easy and as technology is improving every year, average people have the same power at their fingertips to track the cell phone locations of their children, spouses or employees right from the comfort of their computer.

Spy Software

One of the easiest ways to track people via their cell phones is by installing spy software on their device that you download from the Internet. Many spy software programs cost under $100.00 and can be installed on a cell phone in a matter of minutes. Best of all, when spy software is installed, the user of the cell phone will have no idea that they are being monitored and tracked.

GPS in Cell Phones

A convenient option that many cell phones come with in this day and age is GPS tracking which enables the cell phone owner to get directions to their destination like they would using the GPS navigator in their vehicle. This convenience also helps cell phone companies to reverse the process and track the owner of the cell phone just in case they call the police calls and need assistance in time of emergency.

IP Address

Since many cell phone owners have upgraded their old phones in recent years to smart phones the government is able to more effectively track people thanks to their smart phones IP address.

Just about every smart phone has an IP address that government officials, hackers or security professionals can use to track the owner of that cell phone day or night.

How to Avoid Being Tracked

The only sure fire way to avoid being tracked if you own a cell phone is to turn it off to avoid having people follow or know where you’re going. In this day and age that’s almost impossible since almost everyone owns a cell phone and in many cases us it as their home phone, so for, best results with your cell phone, you should only use it when you need to and possible consider making more calls from a landline or old fashioned pay phone.

It was an entertaining little read, and not too gruesome for those who don’t like that sort of thing. I on the other hand, love that sort of thing! So it was a little mild for my tastes.

1000 Ways to Die

Spike TV has a show that has been renewed for yet another season whose title is simply “1000 Ways to die”. It claims that the ways in which people die on the show, everything is of course reenacted, are true. And dutifully cautions its viewers not to try anything they see on the show because “you will die”. As fun as the show is… And it is… The methods of death that they portray are at best, exceedingly difficult to fathom. We continued to have many a good laugh however, over the stupidity that humans unfailingly continue to display, leading ultimately to their ruin.

The Strangest

Many deaths throughout history have been bizarre to say the very least. To date, these are the weirdest: you’ve heard of The Segway, it’s the scooter that adults ride around town on. Its creator, Jimi Hesselden, died when he inadvertently scooted his Segway off of a cliff. If the fall wasn’t enough to kill him the fact that he drowned in the river into which he fell was. Death by video game was exactly what happened to a pair of 18 year old males, one year apart. Same game, both had achieved “highest score” and both dropped dead.

We all have to die, that’s a given. Might as well get our name on some top 10 list and go out with a bang. However, for the rest of us there won’t be a flashy funeral and many don’t even prepare for it. Funeral insurances quotes is the first step.

Biologically speaking, humans have five senses that they use to perceive and navigate the world around them. These are sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste and each has valuable things to tell us about concrete reality. The sixth sense, however, is unique. It’s a slippery thing that we have trouble defining. Sometimes we even have trouble deciding whether it actually exists or is just a made up concept that describes a series of very real phenomena. What we do know is that while the five traditional senses seem to be grounded in a very physical way of experiencing the world, the sixth sense is all about the power of the mind.

Perception and Intuition

Officially, the sixth sense is described as another way of perceiving the world. In fact, it’s almost an absence of perception. It’s a perception that is “seemingly independent of the five senses”. In other words, it’s the kind of knowledge that you didn’t even know that you had and you certainly don’t know where you got it. It’s also called intuition and some go even further and call it a kind of ESP or extra sensory perception. In any case, it often seems kind of magical to us.

Scientific Answers

Scientists who have studied that question of a sixth sense focus on the origination of this strange knowledge. Most theorists believe that the effect we call our sixth sense often comes from the same place as our other knowledge of the world, the original five senses. They believe that we don’t always have conscious knowledge of all the information we are consistently collecting from the environment using our senses. When we use our brain’s processing power to put together this behind the scenes information we may draw conclusions that come as a complete surprise to our conscious mind. We tell ourselves that the resulting information came from our sixth sense.

Everyone knows that Pluto is no longer a planet. Since 2008 Pluto’s official classification has been plutoid. It’s a move that was and continues to be hotly debated among scientists as well as the general public. You can even find poetry devoted to commemorating Pluto’s loss of status. Now, however, the hunt is on to fill the void that deplanetizing Pluto has caused and some astronomers won’t be satisfied until they dethrone Jupiter. From Pluto, to Planet X to Tyche, it seems that researchers are determined to rewrite and reclassify the solar system and its contents in order to suit their wildest theories. Everyone wants to be the one to discover a new planet.

The Story of Planet X

Astronomers have been speculating that there was another, bigger, planet out there affecting our solar system since 1840. In that case, it turned out that they were right—they found Neptune. Neptune’s discovery didn’t answer all of their questions, however, and in 1894 scientists coined the term Planet X to describe the proposed planet. This planet was theorized to explain irregularities in Neptune and Uranus’s orbits, but further evidence for its existence was never found and the last scientist studying it died in 1993. Since then, there has been little interest in the potential of Planet X.

New Planet on the Block

In 1999, new theories began pop up, speculating as to the existence of a planet called Tyche. Tyche could be as big as four times the size of Jupiter, say scientists. It may be located about 375 times further away from the sun than Pluto where it is believed that the planet’s orbit disrupts the oort cloud and triggers comets. Theorists suggest that evidence of Tyche’s existence has already been discovered, thanks to NASA’s Wise telescope. They hope to have confirmation of their theories within the next two years.
