Question Cat scratching post?
Well I just received my kitten cat scratching post (this is more like a tree because of multi-up and about 7 meters high) and he is not scratching it. Not only that he is not scratching anything. There were a few days and where normally he will go to places "of his itch" he has, but he has not scratched or post. He only likes sleeping on his head and looking out the window. I do not know what wrong with it. What do you think I should do?
Cats want to be more high, and it looks like cat tree is a perfect gift for him. I would not worry much that he is itching to things. For one thing, even if a cat scratches on the side of a bed, it does not mean that he wants a vertical surface scratching. Many prefer a horizontal surface, and for this I use cheap cardboard scratchers. But I also have three tree house cat (cats have many) and their climbing up and down, scratching the carpeted perches, and also using posts sisal does a great job allowing them to ignore my furniture. Sometimes it takes them to take some time to using a vertical scratching post. Some of mine will grow up posts sisal time before they decided to scratch on. And it was very evidence of use by other cats posts. As with catnip then, you need to know if your cat is sensitive to catnip. Sensitivity to to catnip is inherited, so that about half of all cats are not interested. Even if both parents are sensitive to catnip, Kitty has only a 75% chance of being sensitive. Regarding what you should do, you should applaud. This is much easier to answer a question no-itch, then what to do if your cat is scratching everything and everywhere.
