Water Dish
why does my puppy push her dry food into her her water dish?
My eight month old siberian husky pup loves to nuzzle her dry food into her water dish which are one in the same bowl. you know the, they're not seperate bowls. i am wondering if i should just try wetting her food to begin with and seeing if she will like that. and should i feed her wet food too?
...it's possible she likes her food wet.More likely , is that she is playing with her food .My dog used to like to watch things fall to the floor, so he would throw or push objects to the floor.I had another dog that used to "nose" his food around from side to side in the bowl.He never grew out of it.I would suggest,if you want, to get separate bowls.Then watch what happens.Clean water is important for the dogs denatal hygiene.Change every day.Clean bowl regularly.We know gum disease contributes to heart disease in humans and dogs.The inflamation spreads.Another reason why dry food is better than wet for your dog's teeth and gums.Less tarter and plaque . Rawhides,greenies, teeth cleanings, and brushing if you can pull it off, will extend your dog's life.Food residue, if left in the bowl, contributes to bacteria growth.Plus, keeping the water changed keeps fluoride from your water dept. in the dog's water supply.......
